Member of the Polish Parliament since 2015. Polish politician and economist, graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Trade at the Warsaw School of Economics. Scholarship holder at the University of Duisburg. In the 1990s, he was associated with the Liberal Democratic Congress and the Freedom Union. In 1994-1996, he was, among others, director of Programme 1 at Telewizja Polska, and in 2002-2006, a member of the management board of Polskie Radio.
From December 2000 to mid-2002, he was Deputy Mayor of Warsaw, and then until 2007, Deputy Marshal of the Mazovia Province. In 2007, he was appointed Secretary of State in the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. From 2011, he was Minister of National Defence in Donald Tusk's government, and from September 2014, Deputy Prime Minister in Ewa Kopacz's government. On 13 December 2023, he was appointed Minister – Member of the Council of Ministers and Coordinator of Special Services. From May 2024 to July 2025, he also served as Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration.
